Narrative sensitivity in medical students: A mixed-method exploration

Objective. The paper introduced the concept of narrative sensitivity. study aimed to identify facets sensitivity (NS) in medical students and assess changes NS during undergraduate education.Methods. A mixed-method was designed explore NS. Data collected from a group their second year (N=50) then fifth (N=42) education. data analysed using thematic analysis accordance with consensual qualitative research. coding system developed refine theme frequencies were counted for each separately Fisher’s exact test conducted statistical significance change between both years.Results. Nine themes related identified data. frequency indicated trend towards decline years However, exploratory nature this small sample size did not allow any definitive conclusions regarding over time.Conclusions. findings raised doubts about outcome education based on narrow biomedical perspective. supported arguments giving emphasis training communication skills including
